SuMmEr!!!

We are so excited for summer. Me and miss Hadley are LOVING the warm weather. We have been to Lagoon, Willard Bay for boating, and going for walks outside. She is growing so much. And I love taking pictures of her. She has Adam's personality FOR SURE! She is really easy going, and doesnt really care what she is doing. We are very excited for Lake Powell coming up on July 7th. But we have to get through the 4th of July first. My favorite holiday, and it will mean so much more this year since Adam is serving in the military for this country. I can't wait to enjoy more Lagoon, BBQ's, boating, zoo, and much more with my sweet Hadders! We miss you Adam!

Daddy for 2 weeks!

So Adam had his 2 week R and R from the Army. He was able to come on March 25th. We picked him up real early on Friday at 8 am. My dad drove me and Hadley to the airport and there it was a sweet scene to see Adam look at Hadley for the first time. We came home and I made Adam shower and change into civilian clothes before handling Hadley. He was so sweet and cute with her and loved holding her. We went up to Adams parents house and we met up with his sister Julie and the kids. It was nice for him to be able to see them. On Saturday and Sunday we just took it easy. We went up to Sunday dinner at the Greens on Sunday the 27th of March. Then we just took it easy the following week. We went out to lunch some, and out to dinner some, and we went to a movie, Insidious which was GREAT. Well Adam ended up going to that movie twice, once with me and once with my brother and wife. Adam had some errands to do like fix up my car and get the registration and emissions done, and change the oil. And we went to the store to get some stuff for a package he needed. Then on Friday April 1st, we went to the zoo. Our real first family outing. It was a lot of fun Adam pushed around the stroller and we had our first MAJOR blow out. She pooped out her clothes and her onesie. It was so bad that I had to change her outside so i could have Adam's help Then we just hung out on Saturday and went to Rodizzio Grill, Ada's favorite restaurant. On Sunday April 3rd (Conference Sunday) Adam blessed our baby girl. We did it between sessions. It was a very snowy day, but we still had a nice turn out. We had my whole family and his whole family and then his uncle Steve and Wife, and my Uncle Lane and Aunt Steph, and MIke and Emily and cousin Zach. Lindsey my cousin was here visiting Beka and so she was present as well. It was a very nice blessing. Adam did a WONDERFUL job. Then we had breakfast to eat. My mom had made some breakfast casseroles and Trudy brought the fruit and Orange Rolls. It was a very nice day. Then the next week just hung out again. No major plans, since Hadley was only 10 days old when Adam got here. It was still too little to go outside. We also went to Hadleys 2 week appointment. It was nice for Adam to be there and meet her Dr. and see how much Hadley has grown. Adam was awesome as a daddy. He did all the bum changes and got peed on and pooped on. He was also the burper and helped dress her. He was also very good at helping give her a bath. I sat in the back of the car with Hadley while he drove us around for the errands and his parents house. He is such an Awesome daddy, that Hadley and I are both so lucky to have him. On Thursday before he left, we went to his parents house for some Steak and his favorite dessert Pumpkin pie. His sister and kids came over to say goodbye, and we are glad its our last one to say goodbye. We drove home through the snow and went to the Jazz game. We left Hadley with my mom and it was just us on a date. It was snowing really bad and we had to walk from our parking spot to the game. But it was nice to just be the two of us. Friday we tried to go to the mall to get family pictures, but it wasnt working out, so we came home and asked my mom to take our picture. I think they turned out nice. Then on Saturday we hung out and went to a move Limitless and then we went to Chili's for a nice date. It was nice of my mom to stay home from California and be here to watch Hadley while me and Adam had some time to ourselves. We went out and got in the hot tub every night. It snowed the whole last week he was here. But Adam was wishing for colder weather, since where he is, is EXTREMELY hot, so he cursed us with the snow. Then on Sunday morning we woke up bright and early (thank you Hadley) and took him to the airport. I was a complete mess. Sorry Adam... I know it just made things harder. But it was so hard when I watched him kiss Hadley goodbye and tell her he would see her soon and he loved her. I lost it and wasnt able to gain composure. I didnt want to go up to the terminal because saying goodbye up there last November was one of the worst things ever. So I just went in with him to print his ticket and then we were standing in the VERY LONG LINE almost out the door for security. When a guy doing crowd control said Sir you dont need to stand in this line. When you are ready come to the front and see me and we can get you in. I started to cry harder. And said I am not ready. So we hugged for a bit longer and then like ripping off a band aid, said our I love you's and turned and walked away. I tried not to turn around and look, but I did. And he looked so handsome in full uniform walking away being SO STRONG. I know that was the hardest thing he has ever done. Walk away from his baby and a bawling wife. I am so proud of him. He is so strong for me and such an amazing husband. That was our two weeks of so much fun. WE are so glad he got to come home and meet Hadley and that I was able to remember what its like being married to a human and not the computer. I got really lucky when marrying Adam. WE miss you Adam, and we love you. I Love you most!

Birth Story *more for my own purposes*

So I want to document my birth story so I dont forget anything. If its too graphic you can skip this post!

So I was getting induced on March 15th. The hospital told me to call at 6 am to see what time to come in. So I woke up early and called and they said come at 7:15. I packed the night before so I had an hour and 15 min to hang out. I was too excited to go back to sleep. So I decided to take a nice calming bath before I headed out. After that I went out to the kitchen to find my mom to take me to the hospital. I hadn't eaten since the night before at Chili's for my birthday dinner with my family. (After dinner my dad and brother Richie gave me a blessing that things may go smooth for the next day) ANYWAY, so me and mom got in the car and headed to St. Marks. we were a little bit late and showed up at about 7:30. I showed up and registered. And they sent me down to room 5 and told me to change and get in bed. At this time it was about 8:30. I was getting very excited.
So I changed into the hospital gown and in came the nurse. So sweet. Her name was Christy (I think) and she was just getting my background and then she was starting my IV and I flinched and blew a vein. That really hurt! SO we had to do it again in the other arm, and I didnt flinch! (I have a HUGE fear of needles and IV's and giving blood and the like.. so this was big for me) so she got my IV started and started the Pitocin drip and I was told to relax and just hang out. So me and my mom just sat there and napped, I was able to speak a bit with Adam and I was told it would be a long night. So I told him to get some sleep and we would text him a bit.
About noon or so Rachel my sister showed up with my nephews Taylor and Chandler. Taylor wanted to stay to see the baby come out of my tummy.. yikes. We told him you can only see that when you are a dad. So my mom and Rach and the boys went across the street to get some McDonalds (I still couldnt eat... I was starving tho.)
At about 1 my Dr (Dr Roth who is seriously AMAZING) came and checked me and and broke my water. My mom was still with Rach, and I was frantically texting her to get back. I thought the breaking of the water would hurt so much more. It just felt like a lot of really warm water. I was dilated to a 4+.. I was hoping for more since I felt like I had been there forever. And I went in dilated to a 3. so I had only dilated 1 CM... I was sad. So Rachel took her boys to her sister in laws house and my mom came back to be with me. And during this time I decided to get my epidural. So the anesthesiologist came and prepped my back. She told me you might feel a small sting down your leg. SHE LIED. It felt like someone had hit my reflex in my knee so hard and hit a funny bone in my leg from my hip to my big toe. It actually made my leg flip out and kick my mom. It surprised me and the nurses. They got really worried because then I started to cry. The pain was picking up, I was getting and epidural and something just happened to my leg! Finally she got the epidural in and was advising me if I needed more pain meds, just push the pump and more will flow into my back.
So at first is was working really well. I could feel my right leg below my knee and from my knee to my hip was just tingly. But my whole left side was completely numb. I told my nurse and she rolled me on my side so I would get more flow to my right side.... not working. And they had really turned up the pitocin drip and the pain was excruciating. So we called the anesthesiologist and he came and put a shot of something stronger in my back. And that worked really well. I was able to play some games with my sisters and by this time Luke (my photographer) showed up, and I was like I can do this. Well an hour later I was in horrible pain.. the shot of the good stuff wore off and I was freaking out. it was dinner time and family was in and out with food and I was starving and in pain... it was about 630 pm.
My Dr came back and checked me and I was a good 6 he said. He was worried because I wasnt dilating like he thought I would or should. He was looking at the baby's heart monitor and her heart rate was dropping, and then they found out I was starting to get a temperature and getting sick. I think it was because the pain was so great that was my body's way of handling it. It was really nerve wracking to watch my baby's heart beat go down. Then pretty soon it was shift change, and I got the most awesome nurse Andrea. And she was doing all she could to calm me down. My epidural wore completely off and it was shift change and I had no epidural running through me. So I was freaking out a little bit I was yelling for my dad to find the anesthesiologist really fast. He finally came in and and gave me a stronger shot of epidural medicine. He told me if this didnt work then he would have to re do my epidural. I was like oh no, I can't do that again. But something has to be done because this pain is so bad. I felt really good after he gave me shot of the stronger stuff, and I was able to talk and be ok for a min. Then the Dr came in and checked me again about 8 pm and I was finally a 9 +. And as he was checking me, he was saying that the baby was coming out with her head sideways. It wasnt the usual spot for crowning. So he had to reach up there and move her around and get her straight. Then he said it was ok for me to start pushing. It was 830 pm. At this time he said that I had been in labor so long that if we didnt get the baby out this way, I was headed for an emergency C-section. And since my epidural wasnt working I would have to be put under general anesthesia.. be knocked completely out. So he left and Rachel got on one side and my mom on the other and the nurse directing and I started to push. I was doing really well until, the stronger epidural wore off. I was trying to push through the pain but it was distracting me. That and the stupid blood pressure cuff. It was set to go off every 3 mins. It was driving me absolutely nuts. So I pushed for a good hour. Then the Dr came in and said this is it. I am getting the vacuum and if it doesnt work, if the baby pulls back a little then we are going for a C section. So he attached the vacuum and was literally pulling as I was pushing and my mom was pushing on my stomach and the nurse was telling me what a great job I was doing. My mom was so helpful the whole time, she had a hold of my leg and pushing on my stomach and doing as much work as I was. RAchel was texting with Adam telling him I was pushing and to hurry and get to the phone center. And Angie was video taping the whole thing for Adam when he gets home. And poor Luke my photographer was smashed in a corner up by my head. It was all going fast. They had to call NICU in because it wasnt a smooth delivery. And pretty soon after a few pushes her head came out. And then her whole body came out. And the first words out of my mouth were I feel so much better! Then I realized she wasnt crying or making a peep. No one was saying anything. Then I hear a small noise and my mom cuts the cord and they rush her to the NICU nurses. They started rubbing her and making her cry more and taking her measurements. But she was finally out.
So it was a rough delivery but when she finally did arrive then she was so good. She scored an 8 on her apgar test and then a 9 after 5 mins. So she passed. And then I was able to hold my little baby. We had Adam on Skype by this time and his mom was holding her and I told him to go ahead and tell the name we had picked out. Hadley Michelle Green. Born 9:59 pm and weighed 7 pounds 13 ounces, 20 inches long, and head diamater was 36 cm around. She is absolutely perfect.

February??

Wow, is it February already? What happened to January? Well at least we are one month closer until my love comes home! Lets see, what did I do in January? Well not much I hibernated in my home and my bed since I was constantly cold! I am almost 34 weeks along, and getting to the point that I am done with being pregnant. I am just ready for baby girl to come already! I don't have any pictures of me at this point because I don't really want to remember this time! But I need to take some for Adam so he knows what I look like. I am getting excited for my ward shower coming up later this month. Some of my friends at work threw me a little shower and my Army Wives friends are having a fun shower coming up in a couple weeks. I keep buying a lot of clothes and not much else!
Feb 7th marks 4 months that Adam has been gone. Wow that time is flying by! I can't believe he has been gone almost 120 days! He is doing well and getting a lot of work done. He is safe and healthy for the moment, just please keep him in your prayers.

The end of the year 2010!!!

And the last thing of the year we went to have a very nice dinner with my siblings and no kids at the Roof at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. My grandma came as my date since Adam is gone.

ChRiStMaS!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! All the way from Afghanistan and Utah! From our hearts to yours! We hope you enjoyed your holiday and had some time to reflect about our Saviors birth during all the festivities. I had some time to reflect on our Saviors birth and all he did for us. It made it sort of sureal this year being with child, like Mary was. And her carrying a child and birthing in a stall and laying him in a manger. The song Silent Night really hit me hard this year. Well our Christmas Festivities started off with a real BANG! To pick up where I left off last time, after seeing David Archuleta... After that we had fondue night at my parents! It was fun we had cheese fondue and meat fondue and chocolate fondue. No pictures sadly, but it turned out really well. Everyone brought something to dip in either fondue. And it turned out really well. After that my In Laws came over to give me the crib they bought for us for Christmas. It is a beautiful crib and I can't wait for Adam to get home so he can set it up for us. We had a nice time visiting and hanging out. After they left my mom and I had to get our Turkey soaking in Beer. Thats right, we had beer turkey. My mom went shoppin and got all the beer and we poured it out into the bucket for the turkey to get drunk in.

On Christmas Eve we started cooking at about noon and had a huge feast! We were able to call my little brother on his mission in Chile and speak with him for about an hour. That was really nice and fun. Our party on Christmas eve is an ugly sweater and Christmas mug party. You have to bring a Christmas mug to sip your cider from. Its kind of fun. And then after dinner Santa comes and we sit on his knee (well this year santa had just had knee surgery so we had to sit NEXT to santa...) and get a gift. I got a fun game I can't wait to play. And then we hang out and play with our gift. My siblings all stayed until about 10:30.. so I was pretty worn out. Since I had been in the kitchen cooking all afternoon! And then we did the dishes and my parents and Beka and I stayed up until about 1 am playing some games and getting in the hot tub (not me) and hanging out talking. It was really nice.

Christmas morning I got up a little late.. about 9:30 or so.. and I was exhausted! I wanted to go up to my sister in law's house and see what the nephews got for Christmas but I just couldnt get out of bed. So I didn't make it. But I was there in spirit! And then I got a phone call from Adam and it was really nice.. until.. it cut out 2 mins into our conversation. I guess all his mins from his phone card ran out. So I got to talk to him for 2 mins on Christmas! I Guess its better then nothing! Then I got ready for the day and we went to a movie. Narnia and it was in 3D. I fell asleep during the movie (which I always do) since I was so tired. We came home and relaxed and waited for my siblings to show up to have Christmas with my parents. As soon as they arrived we went into the living room to open our gifts. My parents spoiled us and they shouldnt have. I got some crib bedding and comfy new robe with slippers and some food storage stuff. And a couple maternity massages. It was really nice. I can't wait to use my massages! After that we have a tradition to eat my Grandmothers Peach Pancakes. I know, breakfast for dinner, but its delicious. They are the best pancakes and i love the fresh peaches on top. And it helps us to remember the good times we had with my Grandparents who have passed away.

So I think we had a very eventful Christmas. Adam had a nice Turkey dinner and had an ok day. He is doing well where he is and getting a lot done he says. So Thank you on his behalf for all the good thoughts and prayers. I know he really appreciates it.

our first year!

Well, we made it! We made it through year 1 of marriage! We can now say we are not the newly weds.. well maybe we still are. But the last year have been full of ups and downs and everything. In the last year we moved from a bachelor pad apartment into our first apartment. Watched lots of movies, went out to great restaurants, had fun weekends together, celebrated my birthday, trips to Las Vegas, learned Adam was going to be deployed, went to Lake Powell, found out we were expecting baby. Move to my parents house, Adam leaves for training in Missouri where he gets hurt and comes home, daily drives to Ogden, leaving work for some time off and going back part time, Adam going to training in New Jersey and getting to visit New York, finding out we are having a baby girl, another trip to Last Vegas with the unit and Adam going to Wisconsin. Halloween fun, Adam coming home for Thanksgiving for a few days, and celebrating our Christmas and our one year anniversary and then him going on to Afghanistan. And then Christmas season, and our anniversary. That makes for a really busy year! And on to the next one.. And we cant wait. This is going to be a really big year for us as we welcome a baby girl and grow as a family and come across some trials with him being deployed for a year. But we are strong and we have a lot of love for each other, and we are going to make it through this tough year.

This past week I kept very busy with our Christmas festivities. We went Christmas shopping at the mall and got the last few presents for under the tree. My dear mother in law told us she bought us a crib for our baby and it should be coming in the next week or so! I am so excited to look at it, because Adam wants to set it up and put all the things together for his daughter so I have to just look at it. I went to David Archuleta and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Concert. And that was amazing and fun. He really helped bring back the Christmas spirit that I had been lacking. Its hard for me to really get into the Christmas spirit this year as I celebrated it with Adam over Thanksgiving. And we gave our gifts then. So I am just along for the ride. I spent some nice time up with my in laws for lunch and hanging out on me and Adams anniversary. So it helped to have something to do on that day. Well Adam is doing great and I am getting by.

keeping busy

So since Adam has been gone I have been trying to stay busy. It helps pass the time and makes the days a bit easier. So after Adam left my mom decided to set up the Christmas Tree.. and asked me to help. That was harder then I thought. Last year Adam and I set up our own Christmas Tree in his apartment A108.. we will always love A108 so many memories.. and so setting up a tree this year with out him hurt. It was fun to decorate his apartment last year with Christmas decorations, tree, stockings.. (we were married a week before Christmas so we decorated his apartment I was moving into) so setting up Christmas decorations this year has been difficult. At least the baby isnt here and he isnt missing her first Christmas. Then the weekend came and my parents took me and my sister to the festival of trees! We go every year and it is so much fun to look at all the trees decorated and the ginger bread houses.. its a fun place. Then on Saturday we had our monthly Army Wives meeting and that was interesting. I thought more wives would want to come and get the support from everyone. But my two friends Ann and Tonya were there. So we stayed for a little bit then we decided to leave and go shopping. They both have kids already, and I love shopping for my lil one.. So we went to Carters. Then after that I had to rush home because we go to the Living Nativity in Alpine every year. So we drove down there and see the Roman soldiers and the animals, and what the kids were maybe doing back in that time, and then you go into a barn and they have Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. And the kids just love it. They literally think they are seeing baby Jesus. And they are so reverent and in such awe.. its great. Then we went out to eat with my aunt and uncle that live in Alpine and my whole family. It was nice. So I had a very eventful week last week. Thanks to all who keep in touch to see how I am doing, this is a hard time of year and hard to be with out the one I love.

Thanksgiving

Well this year for Thanksgiving we were especially Thankful... to be here with family and friends. Adam was able to leave Wisconsin on pass and come home for the holiday.

Tuesday- was supposed to be the biggest blizzard of the century or something.. so we were a bit nervous for Adam to fly in on this day. Schools were closing and my work called me and told me not to come in because it was going to be too bad. So I did some extra shopping for Adam and just waited for the storm to come. It was about 5 and the clouds came in (mind you all day the sky had been blue..) and it turned black and grey outside, and then it hit. The snow was supposed to come faster and colder then the plows would be able to get rid of it. So we were nervous. And Adam was supposed to fly in about 7 pm. He took off a few minutes early so I was hoping they would make it. Since the weather was so bad Adam asked that my dad drive me to the airport. So about 6:45 me and my dad headed out. It was so bad that we drove the back roads and not on the freeways. What would have been about a 15-20 min drive to the airport turned into almost an hour drive at about 25-30 miles an hour. I was so anxious! While we were driving, Adam texted and said dont leave yet, we can't land.. we are being rerouted to Denver for more gas and then we will try to come back again. We FINALLY made it to the airport and I saw some other Army wives and they said they were going to get a special pass and go up to the gate to wait for them. So my dad so graciously drove home to wait for me to call him and tell him to try to brave the storm again. So I went and got a special pass and went through security (which I was picked to have the FULL pat down.. of course) and we went to the gate to wait. I think there was about 4 other wives there with me, and we just talked for about an hour and a half... waiting. Finally he texted that he had landed. I by that time had butterflies and was so excited I was trying not to cry. Then.. I see him.. in full uniform making his way down the jet way. I ran halfway down the jet way and hugged him with full force. I couldnt stop hugging him or looking at him. We made our way down to get his luggage and went out to find my dad to go home. I just remember I couldnt stop looking at him. We were driving home and Adam REALLY wanted a hamburger, he was anxious and hadnt eaten either, but because of the storm businesses had shut down, but we did find a Wendy's at about 1130. We made it home and relaxed and ate dinner. It was SOO good to have him home .. Finally..

Wednesday- Through the night I would wake up and try to look over and see if Adam was still there. It was like I could hardly believe it. I was so excited. I unfortunately had to go to work for a few hours. So I took Adam down to tracks and he rode that over and connected with Front Runner. And by the time he got to his parents it took him about 2 hours. He was such a good sport. I think he had his brother and sister and families there and they had some subway for lunch and talked for a bit. I was at work and it was so hard to concentrate knowing that he was only here for a few days and I had to spend some of it away from him. I was finally off work and I rushed up to his parents house because we were going to be having family pictures. We had our pictures taken at the Historic Union Station. It was going really well until the snow came. But we really didnt have another day to do family pictures since Adam was only here for a few days. So we braved the snow and smiled as best we could! After that his sister was kind enough to plan for us to go to Jasoh's for a nice sibling dinner. They got a sitter for the kids and we were able to have adult conversation and hang out and talk for a while. We then went to his parents for us to hang out and see each other. It was really nice and we had a very nice time. His brother and sister left and we gave his parents their Christmas gift, a nice book I made of our Wedding. After that we decided to drive the truck home and get it moving again. We came home and my parents gave Adam his Christmas gifts.. they got him some laffy taffy which he just loves, and a new digital camera. I am excited for this new camera it is water proof and shock proof.. hopefully it wont have to do either. Thanks mom and dad for the wonderful gift!

Thursday-- Thanksgiving-- We were able to sleep in and just relax this morning. We went to the movie Harry Potter and that was a long movie, but Adam was so excited to go to a movie theater and have popcorn and a soda that he didnt care. I dont care so much for Harry Potter but it was nice to go to a movie with him again. After the movie we came back and had a Thanksgiving dinner with my parents and Beka. Since on the Sunday before Adam and Beka didnt get to come to our Thanksgiving. Adam wasnt used to eating this much and was a bit overwhelmed with food! After we had dinner we ran up to his parents again for us to have Christmas with his family and see the nephews and give Adam a special blessing. So we headed back up and had a special blessing and we got some great gifts and had some special time together. It was a very nice Thanksgiving and we had a wonderful time.

Friday- We woke up and needed to do more family pictures with my family. We headed over to Wheeler Farm and got the whole Stevens bunch together. It was freezing!!! I think it was in the 20's.. My mom brought hot chocolate for us all to sip after the pictures. After the pictures we went to 5 guys burgers and fries. After that we came home and had some time with my family and packed up to go to the hotel I had rented for the night. We relaxed and spent time with my siblings and celebrated my dad's birthday. We took some funny pictures with the hats my mom got (unfortunately all the pictures from Adams stay are on HIS camera, so I dont have any.) Afterwards Adam had some shopping to do and ran some errands. He came home with some very beautiful bright pink flowers. He wrapped his gifts and we headed out for the hotel. We went to the Marriott Downtown. It was finally nice to be just the two of us. We hung out for a while and had our Christmas. I gave him a video game he had been eye balling, and some things for the new camera. He gave me some gift cards to my favorite place to eat and for the baby and some chocolates! Then we headed down to the Jazz game to watch them beat the Lakers. It was such an awesome game, neither me nor Adam have been to a good game like that. It was so much fun and had us pumped up for the night. After that he wanted another burger from Wendy's. We ate some dinner and shared some chocolate covered strawberries and relaxed watching some tv. It was a very fun night.

Saturday- We woke up thinking about what day it is... and what is to come. We relaxed and hung out in the hotel room until about check out. And then we went to Subway for something to eat. We came back home and he started to pack up his stuff. He gave me a very special sweet blessing that I totally bawled through and he got ready to go. He drove us to the airport and I was able to get the special pass again and head up to the gate to wait with him. I went through security this time with no issues and then we waited... And that was the hardest. The wait.. Anxiously awaiting to hear when they will call his zone. And they finally did, and the tears came.. I know it is so hard for Adam to watch me cry and be broken hearted, but I am more sad for him then for me. I have my family and my friends and the wives and all my stuff around me. He is going to a far a way place with no family and no baby girl and his stuff that is comfortable isnt around. So I kiss him good bye, and tell him I love him and watch him get on the plane and try not to run away. It was so hard to drive away from the airport knowing he is just right there on a plane. But I had to and I made it home. My mom surprised me with going to get a pedicure and that was kinda nice to get my mind off of things.

That was our weekend. It was very nice to be with him and to spend this time with him. He is truly my best friend and I couldnt ask for a better husband or father for our baby girl. I love you so much Adam, God speed and I can't wait to see you again! I love you ...

whats new...

So just an update about the baby! I am about 22 weeks now, and feeling this baby move like crazy. It is the most amazing feeling in the world. I hope that by the time Adam gets here he will be able to feel her move around. I love reading books to find out what she is developing this week and her milestones she is reaching. I had an Ultra Sound on November 1st.. the Official Ultra Sound, and the radiologist said that she looks great. They were able to see everything they wanted to, and she looks perfect. I got a bit sick this week with strep throat and I fear its turning into bronchitis. Good thing I have a dr appt on wednesday. I love going to dr appts. I get to hear her heart beat and it is calming to me. Adam is doing great. He is training hard and not sleeping much but he says the days are passing fast so that is good news I guess. I would have to agree, for some reason the days did pass really fast while he was gone. I was thinking they might drag on, but they have been going fast. He will be here before we know it. I can't wait to show him how big the belly has gotten.

whats new with Sara?

Well, yesterday I reached the 20 week mark of my pregnancy!! I had an ultrasound about 5 weeks ago, and they found out its a girl. I have another one on monday from my dr's office. So we hope its still a girl! I have been feeling really good (as good as you can with your husband gone) and nothing really to complain of yet! Its October, which means its me and Adam's favorite month. I have been trying to live it up for him... but dont really have the energy. lol. But last night we did have the Stevens Family Halloween party which was very fun! We went to the Salt Lake Cemetery in the Avenues and had a tombstone scavenger hunt! I think it turned out really well, and most of the family found most of the statues. I found a great grandfather of mine on accident. Richard Erastus Egan, the 1st pony express rider! That was fun. We found all sorts of statues and creepy graves, like Emo and Lilly Gray (victim of the beast). THen we came home and had some delicious soup my mom had made and carved pumpkins and had a candy pinata! It was a lot of fun, and very tiring. some pictures will come soon as soon as they are loaded to the computer. Adam gets to come home for Thanksgiving on Nov 23rd! I am so excited. That is about it for me this month. I hope all is well with everyone!

In the land of the cheese heads!

So Adam is in Wisconsin and he is doing great. They have been having a lot of training lately which makes it hard to talk to him. He has been at the ranges all week, shooting guns ALL DAY... I guess you have to practice a lot!?!? And he even went to a "bomb range" which he really liked. He loves bombs and robots! He has been super busy and not much time for sleep. I am so proud of him and the sacrifices he is making for our small family. He is an amazing husband and will be a great daddy! I dont have many pictures of training, but here are some of our tearful goodbye. Can't wait to do this again in November...

No, Not Today!

Today is the day... The day we have been waiting for, the day we have been dreading the day we have been anxiously awaiting.... The day Adam leaves. He packed up all his stuff and he headed off this morning for Ogden where at midnight we will be having a "send off" and he leaves for 6 weeks (or until nov 23 or 45 days :] but no one is counting right?) He has his bags all packed and he is taking most of his Army stuff and leaving some civilian stuff. So I wake up this morning and its good bye time. I kiss him good bye and watch him leave... then the tears start, and havent stopped. As I watch my husband, the father of our baby head off, essentially for war. It is going to be a very long 14 months.. hopefully it will go by fast. I am glad to get christmas over with now before the baby is here, and hopefully having the next few months busy with holidays will make it go fast. But my husband is gone and making huge sacrifices for me and our family, and I appreciate him so much. He is a great man and a great husband. I couldnt ask for one better. Thank you Adam for all you do for us and our country. God Speed! I love you! We will see you soon...

Jackson Hole for Labor Day!

Well this year I was able to go to Jackson Hole with my parents and my sister Rachel and her family. It was a lot of fun. We stayed in these cute little cabins and had so much fun together. Wish Adam could have been there... but here are some of the trip highlights! We left on Friday and we arrived Friday night to our little cabin and just headed to bed. Saturday we woke up and had breakfast and drove over to Jenny Lake and took a little boat across the lake for a small hike.. Me and my mom and hiked to the waterfall and that was very pretty... Then we had a picnic .. me and niece Kaylee and my mom in the background! Then my dad rented 2 canoe's and we went around a small little SHALLOW lake... This looks like Kaylee is pulling her parents around the lake! They were just high centered for a minute. And we went to a Rodeo! Where my nephew Taylor won a rodeo rope! Then on Sunday we woke up and went to church and then we made the hour and a half ride up to Yellowstone to see Old Faithful and the Hot Pots! Me and Old Faithful.. it is smaller then I remember, i think because the wind was blowing REALLY hard The Fam at Yellowstone... And we encountered some wildlife along the drive.. some buffalo and some elk... and a buffalo herd in a BLIZZARD!! And Buffalo walking RIGHT next to our car! Then on Monday we checked out of our little cabin and went to the Jackson Hole Ski Resorts and took a gondola up to the top of the Grand Teton's and took a picture. We went up about 10,000 feet and the temperature dropped from 40 down to about 25. And it was REALLY windy up there. That was the trip to Jackson's Hole! We sure missed our Adam but we can't wait to take him to see Jackson's Hole and see the Yellow Stones... It made some of the time Adam was gone go by fast. I can't wait for Adam to come home for a few weeks before he is off! Love you Adam Bob!

Again

So Adam is back at it again. He will leave Monday for about 2 weeks. He will be home on Sept. 13th... ish. He will be going to New Jersey and hopefully he will be able to visit the Jersey shore! Just Kidding... So we are sad to see him go, and this will be the last training he will have before he will leave for the base to deploy from. So he will be gone until Sept 13th and then be home until Oct 4th, then he leaves. :( We will miss him so much, but sometimes there are sacrifices you have to make as a married couple. We wish him luck and hope to see you soon! Love you Adam!!

Adam's Adventures

So Adam had his MRI last week and its not torn! Thank goodness. He did however get a fracture in his shoulder when he got hurt back in April and just re injured it in Missouri a little bit. He will be ok once he does some physical therapy. That starts sometime this week, then on August 24th or so he will head off to New Jersey for more training. Great... Well you have to do what you have to do sometimes. So right now since he is home he still has to work EVERYDAY in Ogden. Thats a great drive everyday to make! Well that is all about Adam for now!

Park City!

So my whole family every year has a condo up in park city, and we go for a week each summer and just have a blast. We all have been doing the Alpine Slides and Alpine coaster and swimming and just lounging. It has been so much fun to just have a break. I quit my job last friday and had this week off before I start my new job on monday the 26th. I am going to work for a reproductive specialist and be a receptionist. I am so excited to get off the phones and not have a phone job for a while and go back to being a receptionist. As most of you know Adam had to come home from his training because he hurt his shoulder. He is due for an MRI sometime this next week to find out if he tore his rotator cuff or if it is just popped out of place. So hope for the best for Adam. He will be missing out on some training because he needs to stay home and get some physical therapy. Well, that should catch us up for now. I hope everyone has a nice pioneer day!!

Missouri Day 1....

Does that say Missery day 1? if not it should. It is a lot harder then I imagined for Adam to be gone. He came home yesterday in the middle of the day because he forgot something, and it made my day! He came home for a quick shower and grab a vest and was gone again. He flew from here to Minneapolis and then on to Missouri. So it sounds like he is going to be traveling most of the day. Missouri

Adam starts his training today, he woke up really early to be up at Ogden by 7 AM!!! YIKES. He has been really nervous and not that excited to go, but we know he needs to do what he needs to do. Its a sacrifice we have to make. We had his birthday party last night with my family. We went to his fav, Red Lobster and then we went bowling, then an ice cream cake afterwards. It was fun. Today at his first day of training, and I actually get to go to a BBQ up at the post and maybe I get to see him do bomb training with a robot. That will be fun. I have never been able to watch him do anything with the Army. This will be exciting. But then in the morning he is on a flight to MO until July 24th. Sad...Miss you honey!
